Our Work

Real roofs across the Portland metro. No stock photos.

Every photo here is a house we worked on. Including what we found in the attic first.

Before & after

Same roof. Same angle.

Every pair here is the same spot on the same house. Look at the edges and the lines, not just the color.

Small gable roof over a front door, old gray 3-tab shingles covered in moss and lichen, house number 415
The same porch roof with new black shingles and a black drip edge along the eave

Entry porch roof, full replacement

Portland metro · Comp shingle

Moss and lichen had lifted the old 3-tab shingles at the seams, so water was getting under them. We tore it to the deck, set new drip edge at the eave, and ran new shingles. Every shingle sits flat. That is what you want to see.

How to read a roof photo

Any roofer can show you a photo of a finished roof. Here's what to look for in ours, and in theirs.

  • The ridge cap

Is it a double-layer cap, or a single cut shingle? A single cut shingle on the ridge is the visible tell of a cheap bid.

  • The pipe boots

New boots and new flashing, or the old jack pipes left in place? Old ones are where leaks start.

  • The valleys

Ice & water shield where the water runs, or standard felt? You can only see this in a photo taken during the job. Ask for one.

  • The ventilation

Intake at the eaves and a ridge vent on top, or nothing touched? Ventilation is the #1 reason roofs in the Pacific Northwest die early.

  • The decking

Ask for the photo of the rotten sheets before they came out. If there isn't one, ask why.
